Jenia Yanes is a Berlin-based cultural writer and independent curator working across exhibitions, collector relations, private previews, cultural media and institutional collaborations.

Her work has moved between public cultural institutions, private gallery settings and collector networks, with private previews and programmes for audiences connected to contemporary art, opera, entrepreneurship and investment, including Ivy Circle and Oxford alumni communities. Along the way, she has also worked with platforms such as Singulart, where she guest-curated Diaspora as a Space of New Identities in European Art.

Invited media collaborations have taken her to exhibitions and programmes at Neue Nationalgalerie, LAS Foundation, San Lorenzo Arts in Venice and Berlin Art Week, with recent coverage including Constantin Brâncuși, Pierre Huyghe, Fujiko Nakaya and Fabrizio Ferri.

Her practice is deeply rooted in Berlin, shaped by years of collaboration with Bezirksamt Lichtenberg, municipal institutions, associations and libraries across civic education, historical research and public engagement. This has included programmes developed with the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb), Cultural Fusion for Interkulturelle Woche and the research-led Not an Extra, developed around the 70th anniversary of Tierpark Berlin.

Independent curatorial work remains especially close to her, including Dear AI: Something Strange Happened to Me Today at Kunstraum Heartspace, centred on pseudo-intimacy and vulnerability within human relationships, and Face Off at Vorona Galerie, conceived as a dialogue on the boundaries of contemporary portraiture.

She now works between independent curating and writing, contributing essays, exhibition texts and curatorial reviews while developing her own editorial projects: @artyanes, her independent cultural media platform reaching over 500,000 readers a month, and Custodia, an online publication devoted to art and culture.
